In today’s busy world, we must make a conscious effort to find our sacred path. It is easy to get caught up in useless busyness and forget about why we are really here and what actually makes us happy…until one day it hits you…you aren’t happy, or at least not as happy as you could be. Perhaps you don’t know where you’ve been for the past year or even years or don’t know how you’ve gotten to the point you currently are nor do you know where you are going.
Then it’s time to take some time out to find your own unique sacred path. We are all hoping to gain inner peace on this journey called life.
I would like to assist you on your journey.
I work with individuals, couples/co-parents, and families. I see children in play therapy from three years old and up as well as adolescents. I work with many families going through the difficult family transition of separation/divorce/remarriage/grief. I enjoy working with couples and utilizing the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to remind couples to acknowledge, appreciate and respect their differences. I found the MBTI to be especially beneficial to couples considering marriage or long-term commitments. I often utilize it when someone is considering career choice or transition as well as for parent/child relations - along with Enneagram
I find anxiety, specifically panic attacks, interesting. Beyond cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT), I utilize a brief solution-focused approach which helps someone dissect what is going right versus what is getting them stuck. I also incorporate biofeedback and neurofeedback in many sessions depending on a person's needs. Biofeedback and neurofeedback can also be helpful for people who feel, after possibly years of talk therapy to process, trauma may better be resolved in a different modality for them. Emotional Freedom Techniques, such as Tapping can also be utilized.
My job is to try to work myself out of a job one day and one person at a time.
My office is inconspicuous in a downtown neighborhood, no signs to inform others of your occasion to visit. You will be welcomed by the swaying of bamboo on your walk down the path to enter the "therapy house", a relaxing environment for what begins for many as a scary journey.
